Benefits of Gardens & Gardening Gardens are worth every penny invested, and ounce of effort expended, in getting them started, regenerated, restored or otherwise brought into shape. Here are few benefits that you might not have considered. Gardens are often our only direct connection with Nature for most of the year. Through this direct connection-hands in the dirt connection-we can experience immense healing on all levels-physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. What is out of balance quickly comes back in to balance. When we are angry or fearful or sad or depressed or lonely, the garden will take all this on and leave us feeling refreshed and ready to carry on. We have the capability of directly transmuting our emotional energy without harm to the land. Engaging with our spiritual nature, and divine Beingness, is a given in the garden. This is the part of our lives that is so often dry and unfulfilled, or ignored or denied. Once recognized and nourished and accepted, Spirit and our larger Beingness will guide us to the flow of true abundance and happiness which we all crave. Gardens, as opposed to lawns, require much less time and care and expense. Eliminate a lawn and discover how much less work and money is involved. No watering or water necessary. No cutting, trimming, or weeding required. No chemicals or toxins leaching into the water table. No mowers or gas needed. No fumes to be inhaled. Gardens are a part of the eco-system in which we live. Gardens are a necessity when you put all the elements of living buildings, growing for sustainability and continuance, transmuting toxins, transforming water etc. together to make a healthy, balanced surrounding or environment. |
